Chester Square Community Voice Panel

Chester Square Community Voice Panel

Gyde's community engagement specialists acted as independent facilitator of a Community Voice Panel in relation to the Chester Square Planning Proposal, on behalf of Canterbury Bankstown Council.

The Community Voice Panel aimed to give community members the opportunity to provide their input into the planning proposal for the development of Chester Square, which represents a significant increase in height and density within the local town centre.

Council was seeking to actively involve residents, businesses and stakeholders, to identify and prioritise community benefits and local needs.

Gyde facilitated two sessions of the Community Voice Panel, guiding the diverse panel to work together to identify and prioritise potential benefits of the development, and to manage contentious issues such as traffic, parking, safety and over-development concerns.

On completion of the Panel, a detailed Engagement Outcomes Report was prepared to guide Council’s determination of the Planning Proposal.
