What we did

We provided strategic planning advice and prepared a comprehensive Statement of Environmental Effects to accompany the DA to address all relevant planning controls, site conditions and environmental impacts. The DA sought consent to change the use of an approved and currently under construction mixed use development, to a ninety-one room hotel inclusive of a penthouse suite. The proposal also provided for extensive ground floor commercial tenancies, a ground floor lobby and basement parking. Although the proposal relied largely on the envelope approved as part of the original consent, various alterations and additions were proposed, including two additional storeys. The site is located in a highly accessible area and is a short walk from the Burwood Town Centre. The proposal responds to the surrounding neighbourhood which is currently transitioning from its low density character.
