We’re seeking adynamic, motivated, and experienced Communications and Engagement Consultant to become part of our growing consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to a diverse range of projects across NSW and the ACT.

Who are we?

Gyde Consulting is a multidisciplinary team of 50 specialists in planning, urban design, social planning, communications and engagement and data analytics operating from offices in Sydney, Newcastle and the Capital Region.

We provide services across industry, corporate, and government sectors and are engaged in a diverse range of planning, urban design, place and development studies and projects.

Delivering quality work, with exceptional, practical and realistic planning, development and place outcomes, is at the core of our work.

About the Opportunities

We’re inviting applications from communications and engagement professionals with a minimum of two years' experience, who are keen to grow, learn, and contribute to impactful work within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

This role is based in Gyde’s Sydney or Newcastle office and involves projects across metropolitan and regional NSW. You’ll be part of multidisciplinary teams delivering a wide variety of planning and urban design projects. Established communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the independence and flexibility to work on a wide range of projects, will be highly valued.

What skills, experience, and capabilities are we looking for?

·       Around 2- 5 years or more of experience in a similar role

·       Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, media, marketing, or a similar industry

·       The ability to deliver high-quality community engagement outcomes

·       Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and work independently with a professional “can-do” attitude

·       Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

·       A collaborative mindset and a sense of humour are always appreciated

·       Experience in developing informative public-facing collateral in a range of formats

·       Skilled at translating complex technical content into clear, community-friendly messaging

·       Experienced in summarising community submissions and feedback into clear, concise reports

·       High level of customer service, including dealing with difficult people and contentious issues

·       Experience in professional, face-to-face engagement with the community

·       Experienced in working with clients and maintaining professional working relationships

·       Willingness to work occasionally outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends, when required
