Gyde Consulting is continuing to expand and we’re looking for a Senior Project Planner/Associate to join our Capital Region team.
About Gyde
Gyde Consulting is a dynamic team of 50 planning, urban design, social planning, communications, and analytics specialists, with established offices in Sydney, Newcastle, and the Capital Region.
Our Capital Region team works collaboratively with the other Gyde offices to deliver high-quality, practical planning and development outcomes across a diverse project portfolio in the ACT and NSW. Our work is defined by strategic thinking, commercial insight, and a commitment to delivering high quality results.

At the Senior Project Planner/Associate level, you will take ownership of projects, build client relationships, and contribute to shaping Gyde’s market presence in the region. You will be supported by senior leadership in your ongoing professional development within a business which genuinely values its team and your growth.

- Provide clear advice on planning legislation, policy frameworks, and development pathways
- Assess development potential, identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities
- Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, and strategic planning advice
- Engage confidently with clients, government agencies, and key stakeholders
- Support and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to business development and regional growth
- Contribute to the Sydney and Newcastle teams when required, including occasional travel to Sydney.
- Continue to develop your knowledge and skills as part of the Gyde team.
About You
You are an experienced planner who takes pride in their work, has a collaborative mindset and combines strong technical capability with commercial awareness. You have a strong interest in planning and how it influences development and the delivery of built outcomes. And you strive to learn more about other jurisdictions and continue to broaden your planning knowledge.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in planning or a related discipline
- Strong experience within the ACT planning system (essential)
- Working knowledge of NSW or Commonwealth planning systems (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Excellent communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to operate at a senior planner level
- An interest in professional growth, industry engagement and government decision making
