Port Kembla Grain Terminal

What we did

We were engaged by Quattro P RE to provide advice on the approval pathway for the development of the Grain Terminal Facility at Port Kembla, within the scope of the Three Ports SEPP. Following this advice, we have progressively prepared planning reports for 8 separate Complying Development Certificate Applications to Wollongong City Council, for elements including dry bulk storage silos, rail facilities and conveyor systems, truck unloading facilities, crane rails and ship loaders. Throughout the process we liaised with the client, specialist consultants and Council. Each submission was supported by detailed analysis demonstrating compliance with the Three Ports SEPP as well as relevant plans and documents from sub-consultants. The Grain Terminal Facility at Port Kembla is an open-access terminal for importing and exporting bulk grain. The Terminal provides storage and handling facilities and has the capacity to dispatch products by ship, rail and road. It has been progressively expanded and modernised.
